March to October: daily from 9am to 6pm
November to February: Tue to Sun from 9am to 4pm (closed on Mondays)
Last entry half an hour before closing.

March to October: Tue to Sun from 10am to 6pm
November to February: Tue to Sun from 12pm to 4pm
Monday: closed
(except on public holidays in Hesse)

Museum shop

March to October: on working days from 11am to 6pm, Saturday, Sunday and on Hess. school holidays from 10am to 6pm

November to February: Tue to Thu and Sat to Sun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed on Mondays and Fridays), on public holidays and school holidays in Hesse from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m

December 25/26 and January 1 from 10am to 4pm
The museum shop is closed on December 24th and 31st

EC card payment is possible in the Roman fort Saalburg. However, credit cards (e.g. American Express, VISA or Master Card) cannot be accepted.

Visit by public transport

City bus line 5 (Bad Homburg)
Take the S-Bahn line 5 from Frankfurt am Main towards Bad Homburg/Friedrichsdorf to Bad Homburg. From the station Bahnhofsvorplatz only four times a day with city bus number 5 to Saalburg.

Taunusbahn
Take the Taunusbahn (line 15) from Bad Homburg or Frankfurt am Main (runs a few times a day) to Saalburg/Lochmühle train station. From there a footpath leads along the Limes to the Saalburg (approx. 45 minutes).
