Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park

I. SUBJECT OF USE

1. The state of Hesse is responsible for the Saalburg Archaeological Park Roman Fort.

2. The Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park can be visited during opening hours in the areas accessible to the general public. Individual exhibition rooms, buildings or parts of buildings may be temporarily closed. The facility must be left by the end of opening hours at the latest. Remaining beyond the closing time is not permitted.

II. PHOTO, FILM, VIDEO AND OTHER IMAGE RECORDINGS

Photos, films, videos and other images as well as drawings are only permitted for private purposes. The use of such recordings/drawings for commercial purposes and their transfer to third parties for commercial purposes are prohibited. The use of tripods, flashlights and other lights in the Saalburg Archaeological Park Roman Fort is not permitted. Approval for commercial recordings must be obtained in advance from the administration of the Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park.

III. TOURS AND VISITOR PROGRAMS

Commercial tours and other visitor programs in the Saalburg Archaeological Park Roman Fort are not permitted. Approval for commercial tours and other visitor programs must be obtained in advance from the administration of the Saalburg Archaeological Park Roman Fort.

IV. HAZARD WARNINGS

1. The paths in the open-air museum are based on historical guidelines. So please be careful. Please pay particular attention to uneven ground in meadows and green areas, such as mole holes, etc. Liability is excluded for injuries and damaged clothing and other items.

2. The historic buildings do not meet modern requirements and therefore do not meet today's usual safety standards everywhere. Doors may be low, steps may be unusually high, banisters may be deep, floors may be slippery and uneven. Insufficient lighting conditions and uneven surfaces require special caution. The historic cellars do not meet today's safety standards. There is a risk of falling. For design reasons, warning signs do not point out these danger points everywhere.

3. During the winter months there is an increased risk of accidents due to snow and ice in the Saalburg Archaeological Park Roman Fort and in the parking lots.

4. There can be dangers associated with the demonstration of historical crafts and production techniques.

5. The use of the external stairs to the historic battlement as well as the access to the battlement is at your own risk.

6. During storms and the risk of severe weather, staying under the trees should be avoided due to the risk of branches breaking.

V. RULES OF CONDUCT

1. Visitors are obliged to behave in such a way that other visitors are not hindered, harassed or endangered and museum objects and other facility facilities are not damaged.

2. Costumes with Roman clothing and equipment, in particular the carrying of weapons (Roman edged weapons, etc.), is only permitted with the prior approval of the administration of the Roman Fort Saalburg Archaeological Park.

3. Climbing the historical ruins is prohibited. Teachers and group leaders as well as legal guardians are responsible for the appropriate behavior of children and young people who are in their company. Liability is excluded for injuries and damaged clothing and other items. Warning signs do not indicate the associated dangers everywhere.

4. The Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park is an open-air museum on the site of a legally protected archaeological monument. Any interference with the soil and exposed archaeological remains is strictly prohibited. Please help to protect irretrievable cultural assets.

5. Parents are responsible for their children. Persons required to supervise must also carry out their duty of supervision in the Saalburg Archaeological Park Roman Fort.

6. Smoking is not permitted in any building.

7. The consumption of food and drinks brought with you is only permitted outdoors, but not in the exhibition rooms and the Taberna museum café.

8. The historical buildings of the Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park are part of the museum exhibition and should be treated with consideration.

9. Leaving the marked paths is at your own risk. Branches may not be broken, trees may not be climbed, flowers or other plants may not be picked. The meadows, gardens and plants must be treated with consideration.

10. The Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park is an open-air museum with ecological standards. Please support us in this cause and produce as little waste as possible. Avoiding waste is optimal environmental protection. If this is not possible, use the waste containers provided on site.

11. Animals must be kept on a leash throughout the facility. Dog feces must be cleaned up immediately by the owner. Please ask for poop bags at the park ticket offices.

12. Bicycles, roller skates, inline skates, ball games and the use of other play equipment are not permitted on the entire grounds of the Saalburg Archaeological Park Roman Fort for safety reasons.

13. The setting up of sales stands of any kind in the outdoor area of the Saalburg Roman Fort is only permitted with express, written permission.

VI. Arrangement for individual cases

The museum staff is entitled to make orders in the interests of museum operations. These orders must be followed.

VII. House ban

If these house and usage rules are not adhered to, a ban on the house and the premises may be issued. In the event of a ban on the house and grounds, the entrance fee will not be refunded.

VIII. Liability

1. The Saalburg Roman Castle's liability for breaches of contractual obligations and tort is limited to intent and gross negligence. This does not apply to injury to life, body and health, claims due to the violation of cardinal obligations, i.e. obligations that arise from the nature of the contract and to claims whose violation endangers the achievement of the purpose of the contract, as well as compensation for damages caused by delay (§ 286 BGB). In this respect, the Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park is liable for any degree of fault. To the extent that liability for damages is excluded or limited, this also applies with regard to the liability for damages of employees, employees, employees, representatives and vicarious agents.

2. The Saalburg Roman Fort is not liable for damage caused by the behavior of visitors. Visitors are liable for the damage they cause in accordance with the statutory provisions.

The house rules come into force on June 17, 2019.

By entering the Roman fort Saalburg Archaeological Park, these house and usage rules are accepted.

USE OF DRONES OR MULTICOPTERN

In principle, aerial photographs taken over the properties of the Saalburg Roman fort require approval. This also applies if remote-controlled drones, multicopters or similar are used. can be used for film or photo recordings. Only in a few justified exceptional cases and only under certain conditions can recordings with such aircraft be approved. The use leads to an increased risk to people and listed objects, to a possible violation of rights and to disruption of the UNESCO World Heritage monument and the cultural sector.
