Corona and Saalburg IX – The most important questions (FAQ)

Who has access to the Saalburg Roman fort?
Access restrictions and the obligation to test will no longer apply from Saturday, i.e. April 2, 2022.

Does the museum visit have to be booked in advance?
No, a visit to the Roman fort is without making an appointment possible.

Are there tours or events taking place in the Saalburg Roman Fort?
Guided tours can be booked individually at: cornelia.krieger@saalburgmuseum.de.

Public tours are offered on Sundays and public holidays at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Is there a requirement to wear mouth/nose protection on the premises?
A mouth/nose protectionduty isn't in place anymore. However, for their own protection and ours, we recommend that our visitors observe the known distancing and hygiene rules in the buildings and exhibitions and wear masks (medical masks: surgical masks, protective masks of standards FFP2, KN95, N95 or comparable) for the duration of their stay.

Is the Taberna museum restaurant open?
Yes, the museum restaurant is open Tuesday-Sun from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Is the museum shop open?
Yes, the museum shop is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.


The Saalburg team will do everything in its power to ensure that guests have a safe and relaxing trip to the Taunus and Roman times, even under these new conditions.
