Use of drones or multicopters over the Saalburg site
Due to the recent near-collision between a drone that was scanning the fort on behalf of the Saalburg Roman Fort and a third-party drone over the museum grounds, we would like to point out the following:
In principle, aerial photographs taken over the properties of the Saalburg Roman fort require approval. This also applies if remote-controlled drones, multicopters or similar are used for film or photo shoots. Only in a few justified exceptional cases and only under certain conditions can filming with such aircraft be authorised. Their use leads to an increased risk to people and listed buildings, to a possible violation of rights and to a disruption of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and cultural activities. Thank you for your understanding.
