PUBLIC TOURS
Sunday (November–February): 2 p.m together for adults and children
Sunday (March-October): 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m Separate tours for adults and children from school age
Each participant will receive a sticker at the checkout, which must be worn visibly.
Duration: approx. 45 minutes. Adults: €5, children: €3 plus admission
Sunday Roman - Archer and Metalworking
Try your hand at archery with authentic reconstructions of antique bows. A metalworker will demonstrate how arrowheads and other metal objects are produced.
Sunday Romans - Roman school, lamp maker and beekeeper
The beekeeper explains how the ancient art of beekeeping has been practiced for millennia. Attend a school lesson and immerse yourself in the imagery of Roman oil lamps.
Sunday Romans - Gladiators of Amor Mortis and Combweaving
In three demonstrations, the gladiators showcase their skills before an audience. The comb weaver weaves colorful ribbons for trims or belts and invites visitors to join in.
Sunday Romans - Roman doctor and fresh Roman bread
The Roman physician explains her craft and which medicines and remedies were used 2000 years ago. Fresh bread baked in reconstructed clay dome ovens is also served.
Sunday Romans - Greenwood turning and soldiers of the Cohors II Hispanorum
The auxiliary soldiers recount their daily lives in the Roman army. At the greenwood turner's stall, craft enthusiasts of all ages can try their hand at woodturning.
