Omegafibel aus Silber schmieden

Forging an Omega Brooch from Silver

This course is all about working with metal: hammering, bending and filing. Each participant will be supervised to make two brooches, i.e. garment pins, based on antique models, including those from the Saalburg collection. The name "omega brooch" is derived from the shape of the Greek letter Omega Ω. The goldsmith and archaeologist Sayuri de Zilva will supervise the production of two brooches, using pre-annealed iron and sterling silver.
